Five Steps to a Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
To summarize, there are five steps to the hazard analysis and risk assessment:
- Conduct a situational analysis
- Identify malfunctions
- Combine situations and malfunctions and assess risk
- Determine ASILs
- Derive safety goals
In the lesson, we have done a hazard and risk analysis for both the lane departure warning and the lane keeping assistant. In the project, your job will be to document what we have discussed in this lesson. And then you will need to do two more analyses to show us what you have learned.
If you go to the project GitHub repo template folder , you will find a blank Excel file for doing a Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment. The project instructions file also contains more information about how to do the hazard analysis and risk assessment.
In the next lesson, you will learn how to derive safety requirements from the safety goals.
